Photo - Mr Alain CousineauThis section was prepared to keep you informed on the implementation status of the 35 recommendations in the KPMG report that relate to lottery prize payment procedures.

The integrity of our operations has always been a core value at Loto-Québec. We are extremely vigilant on this regard.

Consequently, Loto-Québec reacted promptly when, in October 2006, the media revealed that Ontario retailers had a higher rate of lottery wins than other players.

While an analysis of the situation in Québec confirmed that there was no statistical reason to believe that Loto-Québec retailers won more frequently than other lottery players, the Corporation wanted to ensure that the risks associated with lottery prize payment procedures were reduced to a minimum. To this end, Loto-Québec mandated external consulting firm KPMG to evaluate its methodology for ensuring that the right prize is paid to the right person.

Last April 30th, Loto-Québec presented the media its positive statement of realizations related to the 35 recommendations of the October 2007 KPMG report. It was equally important for us to share this information with all consumers.

I invite you to browse through this new section of our website where you will find further information about the implementation of new procedures for prize payment to lottery winners. This information will be updated as work proceeds.

Finally, I would like to take this occasion to thank you for the confidence you have shown us for the last 37 years and to wish you a pleasant visit!
