In 1979, Loto-Québec embarked on a mission to stimulate the visual arts in Québec by means of an acquisition program focusing on contemporary art.
Some 29 years later, La Collection Loto-Québec and its 4,000 works of art by 975 Québec artists represent an important link in Québec's artistic heritage.
Each year, some 200 new works of art are acquired to further enrich the Collection.
Today, La Collection Loto-Québec is pursuing its mission while increasing the exposure of its works through Espace Création and exhibition tours throughout the province.
La Collection Loto-Québec Calendar
To raise public awareness of the Collection, present its works and provide artists with additional support, several initiatives have been launched, including:
Displaying the works in all Loto-Québec buildings. The works adorn the
offices and public spaces of each of the Corporation's departments and subsidiaries,
in Montréal and in other regions of the province. The works contained
in La Collection Loto-Québec enhance the lives of those who
work at and visit Loto-Québec's offices and the three casinos.
